Error when trying to run R

Error starting penguin container: 50
Launching vmshell failed: Error starting crostini for terminal: 50

I need to run R so that I can download R studio but I keep getting this error message. Not sure how to fix it.

This is a Chromebook issue, which might be fixed by changing shell
