I'm trying to run multiple imputation using mice() and following advice from van Buuren's book "Flexible Imputation of Missing Data" (for multilevel data, specifically), but I get the following error:
Error in str2lang(x) : :1:131: unexpected ')'
1: dv._lmer~....
(after ~ the imputation model is shown)
Any idea where this may be coming from and how to fix it?
It looks like you have a renegade parenthesis somewhere in your code, but it's really hard to tell what the problem is without seeing your code.
Could you please turn this into a self-contained reprex (short for reproducible example)? It will help us help you if we can be sure we're all working with/looking at the same stuff.
There's also a nice FAQ on how to do a minimal reprex for beginners, below:
What to do if you run into clipboard problems
If you run into problems with access to your clipboard, you can specify an outfile for the reprex, and then copy and paste the contents into the forum.
