Error: no documentation of type ‘A’ and topic ‘O’ (or error in processing help)

I have a problem when i try to use the dplyr library like the function select or %>%
When i try to use it in the console i have the following error message:

Error: no documentation of type ‘A’ and topic ‘O’ (or error in processing help)

what can i do?

Hi Paz,

Sorry you're having this problem.

Do things work normally for you if you run it some other way (e.g. by knitting an R Markdown file)?

What is the exact sequence (or an example of one) that triggers this? i.e. are you doing something like the following in a fresh R session and getting that error message:

library(dplyr)
mtcars %>%
  select(drat)

If possible, could you please turn this into a self-contained reprex (short for reproducible example)? It will help us help you if we can be sure we're all working with/looking at the same stuff.

install.packages("reprex")

If you've never heard of a reprex before, you might want to start by reading the tidyverse.org help page. The reprex dos and don'ts are also useful.

There's also a nice FAQ on how to do a minimal reprex for beginners, below:

What to do if you run into clipboard problems

If you run into problems with access to your clipboard, you can specify an outfile for the reprex, and then copy and paste the contents into the forum.

reprex::reprex(input = "fruits_stringdist.R", outfile = "fruits_stringdist.md")

For pointers specific to the community site, check out the reprex FAQ.

Just as a note, the only place I've found the wording you're getting is in source code for the base utils package:

# File src/library/utils/R/question.R
# Part of the R package, https://www.R-project.org

An example of what i put onto:

install.packages("dplyr")
library(dplyr)

View(iris)

a<-iris %>% select(Species)

but with the information of the error i realeze that i just had an typing error because i was using the letter "ñ" and the program transform all the letter "ñ" into the simbol "?" so i just change it and run perfectly

thanks u! the part "if(is.language(topicExpr))" was the key
