Error message in R Studio

Error in readRDS(sub("/help$", "/Meta/Rd.rds", path, fixed = FALSE)) :
error reading from connection

This is the message that I get when I start R Studio. I have uninstalled R Studio and re installed it again. And the message remains. I can't install new packages anymore.

Have someone ever come across this message?

my best guess is that is a problem with the R installation itself. Test this by not running RStudio as you normally would, but try R via one of the other entry points such as RGui, or Rterm.exe etc.
If I'm correct and this error appears even when not using R studio ; then I recommend you reinstall R
