Error deploying shinyapp due to rgdal installed from R-Forge

This is a followup to this: Dose shinyapps.io service still NOT supports deploying packages installed from R-Forge?

I installed rgdal via install.packages("rgdal", repos="http://R-Forge.R-project.org") after install.packages("rgdal") failed. Now my shiny app can't be deployed. Is there a work around to this?
