Diversity test on two samples

Hi all !
I wanted to do a diversity test between the day period and the night to show if there is more species in day than in night or vice versa or just no significance difference. I don't care about the value, I speak about the species diversity.
Are there more different species during the day than at night from a statistical point of view ?
