Cannot Connect to R. Increase Timeout?

Hi,

When I start RStudio (R v4.0.3) I usually see the error message shown below. When I click 'Retry' everything goes fine, the GUI and R load as expected.

I assume there is a timeout behind the scenes, is there any way to increase it?

What version of RStudio are you using? We are tracking a similar issue in the preview release:

We do see intermittent failures from time to time, but this one warrants further investigation since: - it has been reported by both @hadley and @mine-cetinkaya-rundel - it started happening for both of them at nearly the same time - we changed the code that shows this page very recently in PR https://github.com/rstudio/rstudio/pull/8148.

RStudio Version: 1.3.1093.0
The issue occurs intermittently with R-4.0.3 and less with versions R-3.6.1 and R-3.5.0.

The R installation is on a network drive which I understand will cause some issues but the drive is quite performant and a R shell can be reached within a few seconds.

RStudio is on a local SSD.
