I’ve recently upgraded my development setup and wanted to share my experience while also gathering feedback from others. I’m currently running the latest RStudio IDE on Windows 11 using an ai enabled laptop, and overall performance has been impressive especially when handling larger datasets and parallel processing tasks.
I primarily work with tidyverse, data.table, and Shiny for interactive dashboards. With the newer hardware, I’ve noticed faster package compilation times and smoother rendering of complex ggplot2 visualizations. I’m also exploring how to best leverage multicore processing for modeling workflows (caret and tidymodels).
For those using high-performance machines, are there recommended RStudio IDE settings or system configurations that help maximize efficiency? For example, are there specific session, memory, or background job settings you’ve found beneficial?
