Anyway to differentiate text highlighting when working with sublists in Markdown?

Currently doing all my homework using Rstudio and .Rmd files. What I like to do is paste in my homework question and then answer the question in a sublist to a question. I've noticed that over time my homework gets harder and harder to read because often times the questions have subquestions and therefore my answers are sublists of sublists.

Anyway that the markdown syntax highlighting could be changed so that when you're deep in a sublist you can see where you're at? As you can see below, it's kind of hard to pick out my answer among the sea of other questions.

RStudio is based on ACE, both of which can import tmThemes. Ace and RStudio have fewer scopes than tmThemes, but, for the most part, I've been able to implement scopes that I've found in other tmThemes (there's a huge library of them that you can toggle through and edit at the link below)

If you can find a scope for any of the built-in themes (i.e. some theme for which the sublists are highlighted as you like them), you can implement that scope for either a modified version of the other themes, or for your own theme entirely. I think this thread re. implementing a new scope in a theme I made is a little bit more clear than I'm being here:
