Accessing Git (specifically GitLab) issue log from RStudio

This is an "I'm wondering if anyone has created a ?adding for this" type moment. But I'm not exactly sure what to search!?

I am using GitLab as my remote repository. I am using GitLabs issue tracker.

When I commit a change I can simply add #13 and the commit is tagged on issue 13.

What I think would be quite nice would be to be able to close issue 13 from RStudio. Either with a commit message (don't see anything that says that's possible and I suspect for most big projects they are actually pushing to a branch and then merge requesting etc. and I suspect you handle that stuff there.

I'm a bit rogue - this is a small personal project - I'm pushing changes straight to production in effect!

So I wondered if there were extra tabs that might appear perhaps allowing me to view and edit issues on the same pane that git sits on.

Oh. It seems there is some "interpretation" of the commit. If I say Fixes #13 the issue is closed.

Would still be good to see the issues in RStudio. But at least I can close them from a commit.
