I hope I’m not in the wrong place to ask this, but if I purchase an RStudio subscription and pay $1,097 per year, does the Posit AI come with it? Is it included? Or I will have to pay $1,097 plus $20 per month?

Posit AI is an optional, standalone service that activities AI functionality (Posit Assistant and Next Edit Suggestions). It is a $20 base subscription per month plus additional usage for those who need it.

RStudio Desktop Pro comes with the Posit AI feature, but still requires the separate subscription.

Can I assume the same applies to Positron? Or is Positron a completely different case?

Hi @betobon, for Posit Assistant in Positron, you can use any of the same providers that Positron Assistant supports. This means that you don't need a Posit AI subscription to use Posit Assistant in Positron. You can see more details in this discussion.

Since I don't use Python very often, RStudio meets my needs. Positron will be the next step.
