The best resources that I have found so far are:

the R For Data Science book by Hadley and Garrett
and of course Stack Overflow is always a lifesaver.
However: in my experience the best way is to go ahead and try R! Some resources, examples, books, reprex will suit you/your question better. A wide range of resources, explanations and people will always help.
As R Studio Community grows, I'm sure it will become a great site for R tips for beginners too. Take a look at this thread for example.
