I just updated RStudio to 2025.05.1 Build 513. It has been a couple years since I updated it. In this new version, every time I type anything, every single keystroke including every space, a host of small blue circles with an "i" inside pop up next to the line numbers in my code file. So it constantly flickers at me as I try to do anything. This is incredibly distracting and makes it hard to do anything at all. How can I turn these off so that I never see them again?
I think I figured it out. In Tools > Global options > Code > Diagnostics, there were many options checked by default (e.g., "Show diagnostics for C/C++"). I unchecked all of them. It may have only been one of them--I don't know which--but unchecking them seems to have stopped the constant flickering.
