Rstudio IDE Does Not Enter Debug Mode

I updated Rstudio to the latest version, 2026.04.0. When I set a breakpoint an run the R program with debugSource() the debug toolbar and green arrow do not appear when the break point is executed. This is the same problem that occurred previously in 2024. See rstudio-ide-not-enter-debug-mode

Updated a few days ago and having this same issue since the update.

I reverted to R Studio 2026.01. The problem went away
