Menu bar went missing and I cannot get it to come back. I have tried switching my rendering to software. I am in college and need this for a class, I even showed my professor, and she said she has never seen it before. It makes R very difficult to navigate as a beginner.
Try resetting RStudio by renaming the RStudio folder as described here

I am trying to use the code that is given but it keeps giving me errors. "unexpected SPECIAL in %appdata%\RStudio .... Any Ideas?
What operating system are you using?
If you are on Windows or Linux and using RStudio Desktop (versus using RStudio in a web browser) there is an option for hiding the menu. Maybe that got turned on unintentionally?
If that is the case, tap the "Alt" key and the menu will appear.
The setting is under Tools / Global Options / General, as seen here:
