I’m seeing the same pattern described in Issues deploying Shiny Apps, but it appears to persist until it dies
I’ve tried this several times on shinyapps io and the bundle uploads successfully, but the deployment then stalls at “Waiting for task …” and eventually ends with application-deploy error or killed.
I also tested a minimal single-file Shiny app and it showed the same behavior: upload succeeds, but the deploy never completes.
What could be the issue? Thank you!

Just wanted to add on to this that I am also having the same issue again, though mine hasn't died yet, it's still in the "Waiting for task" stage. I am hoping it resolves itself eventually like it did for me last time (I am the poster of that other issue you linked) but, even if it does resolve, I am curious if anyone else has run into this issue and if there is a solution or a known reason this is occurring?
Seems to me like this could be genuinely a server overload. It was ok during the day in Europe today, but started to lag again when the US workday started. It seems someone's hogging all the traffic there. It is an active issue, I hope this can be fixed, it currently seems that it's just gonna time out in an hour or so, and not reach deployment.
Same issue! And frustrating. Have been trying to publish a tiny app of 300 KB. Even that is not being deployed.
same issue here - started yesterday. rsconnect::deployApp just hangs on 'waiting for task' for a long time. sometimes it fails sometimes it eventually goes through. Also changing the settings for an app in the shinyapps.io console has the same issue. must be system-wide/server issue?
