Inserting document structure using tree command in PDF output

For writing the documentation of one project, I wanted to insert the folder structure.

Not an answer about bash issue, but I wanted to share that for this I use fs::dir_tree from R directly

Print contents of directories in a tree-like format — dir_tree

In case it may help.
