Do you also updated any of these packes? It is very unlikely that the installation of the compilers or Java has anything to do with this, it is more feasible that this is related to a package update with breaking changes.
To give you any specific advice we would need a REPRoducible EXample (reprex), can you try to make one with made up data that resembles your actual data?
