Any joy on correcting this Terra package issue Posit? I've tried both leaflet and mapgl, but all roads lead to a dependency on terra 
FYI current (Aug 2026) Posit Connect Cloud terra deployment problem is posted here: latest terra/tmap packages not deploying on posit connect cloud (libproj.so.25 dependency issue)

information about using an older binary version of terra is really helpful.
It would be great if Posit could clarify the supported terra /GDAL combinations for the current deployment images, especially since packages like leaflet and mapgl can bring terra in as a dependency.
Hopefully there’s a more permanent fix soon. Appreciate everyone sharing their workarounds and findings! 
As per the posit connect cloud thread linked above, terra has released v1.9-46 to CRAN and this solves the terra/GDAL etc incompatibility issues that recently arose on posit connect cloud.
